The foundational values of MAX and the members we serve come from a deep heritage.
A central feature of the MAX enterprise offered to members is MUTUAL AID MINISTRIES (MAM). It is grounded in our desire to join Anabaptist/Brethren/Quaker congregations and other faith communities in responding to persons experiencing trauma, burden or loss. This ministry is consistent with MAX’s mission of “creating and sustaining wholeness through preserving and restoring property, lives and communities.”
Burden Bearing Ministry
This ministry is available when a member or constituent experiences a traumatic event or loss resulting in financial hardship. MAX, through MAM, will be available to walk with them in their time of need – in partnership with their local faith community – to address their emotional, spiritual and financial needs.
Support Network Ministry
This is a ministry which invites a network of Anabaptist/Brethren/Quakers throughout North America to be notified by email of special needs or concerns* and joys or celebrations in the constituency and among the MAX membership. Support Network Ministry participants are invited to under-gird these needs or concerns and joys or celebrations through prayer.

*Needs or concerns may relate to claims, natural disasters, illnesses, traumatic events or other losses.
Financial Support Ministry
This ministry provides one time financial grants, in partnership with the faith community, during difficult financial hardship, caused by losses, health crises, loss of employment or when sudden disabilities occur and are not covered by insurance. The financial support ministry is provided through the auspices of the MAX Share Fund, Inc. (a 501C3 organization in the United States) and the MAX Canada Share Fund, Inc. (a registered charity under the Canada Revenue Agency).
Advocacy Ministry
An advocate supports and promotes the relational quality valued in an organizational culture. With this in mind, Mutual Aid Ministries personnel will be involved, as appropriate, in advocacy with members, related Anabaptist/Brethren/Quaker agencies and organizations, area conferences/districts and denominations.
Educational Ministry
This ministry fulfills one of the mandates of MAX, to promote the concepts of wholeness and mutual aid so central to our faith community. Working independently and with other Anabaptist agencies, MAM personnel will provide constituency education on the biblical mandate and understanding of mutual aid through teaching and preaching ministries and by producing literature on the subject.
